Who is Garrett Boren?

Hello! My name is Garrett and I have been working on getting my degree in Culinary Arts for the past two years. This will be my final term before I graduate but my degree has already given me a decent job working in a hospital kitchen where I'm the main cook providing 200+ meals for doctors and other medical professionals every day.

As you may be able to tell, I take a lot of pride in cooking for other people; providing a comforting experience for someone no matter how small. Because of this aspect of myself, I've had people ask me what would I plan to do with a culinary degree and while I don't have any plans to do so at the moment, the typical answer would be to open a restaurant or similar establishment. That isn't really where my heart is at, though, at the moment. However, I would still see it as beneficial to understand the key concepts to do so. That is what interested me about taking a marketing class as opposed to any of the other electives I could have taken this term. Ultimately, the knowledge and skills from this class could end up being useless, however, having those experiences in my back pocket as a potential tool to use and apply in any future career would be the wise thing to do. I want to see what appeals to people, what is skill, and what is luck when it comes to the world of marketing. 

Outside of my life as a chef, I like to focus on having a very chill life. I read mystery books, play video games, write my own stories, and find which of my friends I can annoy the most on any given day. I have a poodle named Ripley and he is not the smartest but what he lacks in brains he makes up for in being a sweetheart. Besides all that, there isn't that much to learn about me and I look forward to learning more about the rest of my peers in this class!
